Behind the Scenes

My studio has plain white walls and a white Venetian blind that I use to control the light. I mostly photograph my food in natural light, if you control it correctly it gives so much more depth and richness in colour.

It's really important to dress the plate as artistically as you can, your visitor can't taste or smell the food so you have to make up for that fact by making it look inviting.

I made it looks just a bit too inviting.

Just a little post editing, which is nothing new really.
In the old days of film we edited in the dark room, in this digital age we do it on a computer.

Whoops!!! just a little too bright I think

I'll be adding more to this page from time to time, so please come back and have another look, or even better why don't you subscribe.

Leave a comment if you want to ask me anything about photographing food.
